Heating (only for centrifuge with heating)

Risk of burning! The centrifugal chamber as well as different parts of the housing heat up.
Do not touch the centrifugal chamber and the affected parts of the housing.
Slot hangers, hangers, shucks and insets made of plastic may only be used at temperatures up to a maximum
of 40°C / 104°F.
The temperature in the centrifuging chamber increases during the centrifuging run, even when the heater is
switched off. The temperature increase (sample heating) depends on the used rotor, the set speed and the
runtime (see the chapter "Appendix, Rotors and accessories"). A temperature lower than this temperature
cannot be reached since the device does not have a cooling system.
We recommend the device be used for centrifuging runs with temperatures between 40°C and 90°C.
During operation of the centrifuge the centrifuge chamber can be heated as required to the preselected temperature.
The heating is switched off when the rotor is stationary.
The temperature set-point can be adjusted from 10°C to 90°C.

Time-controlled heating

If necessary, you can set the heating to turn on after the centrifugation run has been started.
The delay time T delay/min can be set from 0 to 99 minutes in 1-minute increments. If no time delay is required, set
to "0". To set the delay time, see chapter "Enter centrifugation parameters".

Preheating the rotor


Press the key
. The LED in the button

Press the
key to end pre-heating. The run-down is effected with the selected brake step. The brake step is
STOP
displayed.
During the centrifugation run the rotational speed of the rotor or the subsequently resulting RCF value, the sample
temperature and the expired time will be displayed.
The preheating-speed can be set from 500 RPM to the maximum speed of the rotor in increments of 10. It is preset to
500 RPM.
The preheating speed can be set as follows when the rotor is at a standstill and the lid is open:

Hold down the key
for 8 seconds.
The set preheating speed RPM = XXXX is displayed

Use the knob to set the desired preheating speed.

Press the key

As confirmation,  ok  will be displayed for a short period.
To quit the preheating speed display, press the

Relative centrifugal force (RCF)

The relative centrifugal force (RCF) is given as a multiple of the acceleration of gravity (g). It is a unit-free value and
serves to compare the separation and sedimentation performance.
These values are calculated using the formula below:
RCF
RCF = relative centrifugal force
RPM = rotational speed (revolutions per minute)
r = centrifugal radius in mm = distance from the centre of the turning axis to the bottom of the centrifuge.
The relative centrifugal force (RCF) stands in relation to the revolutions per minute and the centrifugal
radius.
