Caution – Always wear an antistatic wrist strap when handling components to
equalize all electrical potentials within the system unit.
3. Attach an antistatic wrist strap as follows:
a. Unwrap the first two folds of the wrist strap and wrap the adhesive side firmly
against your wrist.
b. Peel the liner from the copper foil at the opposite end of the wrist strap.
c. Attach the copper end of the wrist strap to the chassis.
Caution – Pressing the power supply switch does not remove all power from the
system; a trickle voltage remains in the power supply. To remove all power from the
system, disconnect the system power cord.
d. Disconnect the power cord.
System Internal Layout
The system's internal layout is illustrated in the service position with the cover
removed.
1. Dual in-line memory modules (DIMMs) on the motherboard
2. PCI card slots on PCI riser board
3. Diskette drive
4. Removable media assembly (RMA), which can contain a CD-ROM drive or
diskette drive
5. Power supply
