CHECKING THE COMPONENTS

BRAKE DRUM
Inspect the sliding surface for scoring and/or scratching. Eliminate minor
scoring with wet sand paper (grain size 1). Replace the drum (1) if badly
scored.
SEALS
Check the condition of the seals. Replace any damaged or worn seals.
BRAKE BLOCKS
Check the brake lining for wear (2).
Minimum brake lining thickness: 1mm
Inspect the spring (3) and replace if yielded.
Check the condition of the following components:
- brake cam (4);
- block plate (5);
- brake lever (6);
Replace any component which shows excessive wear or damage.
