9.1.6.3 To assemble the pivoting rear axle
1. Put the axle into the bushings.
Note: Make sure that the hole on the axle points
rearward.
2. Install the washer and snap ring on the front end of
the pivoting rear axle.
3. Install the dirt protection approximately ⅔ into the
axle.
4. Lubricate the axle on the 2 sides of the dirt
protection.
5. Move the rear frame forward and push it onto the
pivoting rear axle.
6. Install the washer and snap ring on the pivoting rear
axle.
7. Install the rear belt.
8. Install the hydrostatic transmission fan.
9. Install the hydrostatic transmission cable. Make sure
that the hydrostatic transmission is correctly

10. Install the brake cable on two-wheel drive products.
11. Install the idler spring.
12. Install the rear wheels.
13. Lower the product
14. Connect the hydraulic hoses to the couplings below

15. Fill and bleed the hydrostatic transmission system.

9.1.6.4 To replace articulated steering bearing
WARNING: Use protective goggles and gloves
when you remove and attach the center spring.
To remove and install the engine
1. Do steps 1–11 in
on page 26 .
2. Disassemble the pivoting rear axle. Refer to
disassemble the pivoting rear axle on page 23 .
3. If your product has a center spring, remove the
center spring. The tension in the center spring is
very high. Use the special tool for center spring to
release the center spring. Refer to
page 3 .
4. Remove the inner snap ring (A) from the lower
bearing.

5. Remove the spindle.
6. Remove the outer snap ring (B) and lift out the lower
bearing.
7. Lift the top bearing from above. If it is necessary, tap
the bearing from below.
