1 Remove both side covers by unscrewing the two screws as indicated in Figure
2 Position the safety shield and side covers such that the drillings of the safety

Safety Shield
To prevent users from accessing the sample area while the needle moves up
and down, a transparent plastic safety shield is mounted on the XY
autosampler.

2 Gently pull the safety shield as indicated by the arrows in Figure 14 and lift
