The CD-ROM may not contain the latest firmware. Therefore, you should check

against the versions in the directory. If the CD-ROM does not contain the latest
versions, you should download the latest versions from the Support Web site to
the laptop.

Upgrading G350 firmware using the CLI

You can upgrade firmware using the CLI. You can perform the upgrade remotely via a modem
connection, but the upgrade files must first be downloaded to an FTP or TFTP server on the
LAN connected to the G350.
To upgrade G350 firmware using the CLI:
1. Prepare installation worksheets. See
2. Set up an FTP or TFTP server on the LAN connected to the G350. For information about

If you use an FTP server, the G350 prompts you for a username and password

connection to the S8300, all anonymous FTP file transfers are restricted to the
/var/home/ftp/pub directory. Permission for anonymous FTP users to create files
