3.3 DIN-standard separator
Set-up
The KESSEL grease separator system is delivered ready for
operation.
Each tank is packed separately on a pallet. Set-up material
and accessories are included on the pallets, and can someti-
mes also be in the tanks.
CAUTION:
The tanks are delivered upside down on account of the
centre of gravity of the upper cover section. They have to
be turned round for installation.
Please heed the instructions on the packaging!
The grease separator is delivered screwed together. The sy-
stem can be dismantled if necessary. The individual parts can
then be transported easily.
The system is then set up again as follows.
Grease Separator NS 1 and NS 2:
1. Set up base part and align horizontally (see Fig. 1).
2. Insert the profile seal cleanly in the sealing groove.
3. Insert the sludge trap into the recess in the base part (see
Fig. 3).
4. Align the sludge trap overflow in draining direction (see Fig.
4).
5. Set the upper part onto the lower part. Make sure that the
impact surface in the upper part is fitted into the recess in
the sludge trap (see Fig. 5). Check the correct fit of the pro-
file seal and correct if necessary.
6. Then screw the upper part to the lower part cross-wise as
shown (see Fig. 6a/b/c).
7. The submersible pipe must be inserted through the opening
in the cover and fitted into the bracket on the base part.
Then it is pushed onto the lubricated drain pipe from the in-
side (see Fig. 7).
8. Insert the profile lip seal into the sealing groove of the upper
part. Then place the upper cover section with cover plate
into the upper part (see Fig. 8).
3. Installation
Grease Separator NS 4:
1. Set up base parts and align horizontally (see Fig. 1).
2. Insert the profile seals cleanly in the sealing groove. In the
case of NS 4 please note that seals of different sizes are
provided for the two tanks of different diameters (see Fig.
2).
3. Set the upper part onto the lower part.
4. Then screw the upper part to the lower part cross-wise as
shown (see Fig. 6a/b/c).
5. The submersible pipe must be inserted through the opening
in the cover of the grease separator tank and fitted into the
bracket on the base part. Then it is pushed onto the lubri-
cated drain pipe from the inside (see Fig. 7).
6. Insert the profile lip seal into the sealing groove of the upper
part. Then place the upper cover section with cover plate
into the upper part (see Fig. 8).
7. Check the metal support rings fitted to the PE composite
pipes in the factory, and correct them if necessary. The
outer edge of the support ring must be flush with the outer
edge of the inlet and outlet pipes.
8. Place sludge trap and separator tank into the prepared ex-
cavation pit and connect using the clamping muff provided
(see dimensional drawing and Fig. 9).
Please note:
Weather-related influences or cooling of the tanks during the
installation phase (caused by filling with cold water) can lead
to deviations in dimensions from the catalogue specifications
in the case of cisterns, separators installed in the ground and
septic systems. For this reason, please check the height spe-
cifications in particular for their actual size before installation.
