1. If the clutch does not operate prop-
erly due to its excessive play, ad-
just its play using the turnbuckle.
2. To adjust the play, unscrew the lock
nut and turn the turnbuckle.
3. After setting the play properly,
tighten the lock nut firmly (Manual).
4. Water can get into the clutch hous-
ing when it rains or snows or when
washing the tractor. If this happens,
remove the plug under the clutch
housing to drain water from the
housing. For details, refer to "Drain-
ing water from clutch housing" in the
chapter "Service".

REPLACING FUEL FILTER(S)

(1) Fuel Cock
(5) Spring
(2) Fuel Filter Head
(6) O-Ring
(3) O-Ring
(7) Filter Bowl
(4) Filter Element
(8) Screw Ring
(A) Close
(B) Open
The fuel filter is installed under the en-
gine cover on the right side of the engine.
1. Close the fuel cock and clean the
area around the filter bowl.
2. Remove the filter after disengaging
the ring and removing the filter bowl.
3. After cleaning you should reas-
semble the new filter element, mak-
ing sure that it is free from dust and
dirt. Assure that all o-rings are in
place.
4. Bleed the fuel system. (See "Bleed-
ing the fuel System" in the service
section)
IMPORTANT
If dust and dirt enters the fuel
system, the fuel pump and in-

jection nozzles are subject to
premature wear. To prevent this,
be sure to clean the fuel filter
bowl and element periodically.
