Ram Stroke Limit Switch Adjustment

The ram travel is controlled by four different switch/control groups.
• The E21 Controller has depth of and mode of operation, travel settings, and time delays for
travel.
• The Foot Pedals signal to start and stop up and down motion.
• The Light Curtain signal to stop or reverse travel if there is any interference with the dies that
may cause damage or injury.
• The Stroke Limit Switches supply several signals.
o The Cross Over Limit switch (sometimes call down stroke limit) signals the hydraulics
to change from the Approach speed to the Work speed, Muting of the light curtains,
and starting of the Hold Timer (HT, more details in the programming section.).
o The Up Stroke Limit switch signals to stop the ram lifting travel, signal the counter to
count a completed bend cycle, and start the next bend timer to create a pause before
the ram may be lowered again. This is typically about 3 seconds.
• First; The two stroke limit switches are located on the right side of the machine and have
rollers that contact adjustable stop blocks.
• Second; The Top limit switch controls the Cross Over function. The Bottom limit switch
controls the Up stroke.
• Third, Always start the adjustment with the Up stroke limit and then the Cross Over limit.
