Automated Metering of Internal Standard

Internal Standard may be drawn up by the CP-8400/8410 syringe prior to
drawing up the sample aliquot for injection. The Internal Standard may
be placed into Solvent Vial positions I, II, or III. Internal Standard is
always withdrawn before the sample to avoid contamination of the
Internal Standard by sample that may remain on the syringe needle. You
should avoid using Sample Fill strokes when using an Internal Standard
since the Sample Fill strokes will expel the entire syringe contents back
to the sample vial inadvertently contaminating your sample. Control of
the Internal Standard sampling parameters is defined in the Internal
Standard softkey that is located on the first page of the CP-8400/8410
method screens. Note that since both Standard mode and Neat mode
use Sample Fill strokes, Internal Standard is not allowed with those
preprogrammed modes.

Priority Sample

The Priority Sample is designed to be used while the CP-3800 is actively
running an automation series. To use the Priority Sample, press the
Automation Select/Edit button and press 4 to choose the Priority Sample.
Enter the Method, injector, first and second (if appropriate) injection
volume and other parameters. When you have set up the Priority
Sample, press the Run Now softkey. The Priority Sample run will be
queued immediately after the current run in progress. Upon completing
the Priority Sample, the CP-3800 will return to the Automation that was in
progress when the Priority Sample was selected.
