The CP-8400 and CP-8410 have a variety of features that support novel
uses for completing your analyses quickly and reliably. Some of the
features include Dual and Duplicate injections, assigning analytical
methods to certain vial ranges for "turn-key" type operation, the ability to
meter Internal Standards with analytical injections and Priority Sample
interruption of in-progress automation.

Dual/Duplicate Mode Operation

The terms Dual and Duplicate injections refers to injecting into two
different injectors during a single run. The injectors will have different
method sections within the CP-3800 and may be set to either run the
same injector oven profile or different oven profiles. The Column Oven
will run a single column oven profile and the detectors will operate
according to their individual sections set in the CP-3800 method. It is
strongly recommended that you turn Vial Detect On when using
Dual/Duplicate mode to avoid unintended mismatches between Sample
Lists and runs.

Dual Run

A Dual run refers to sampling from two different vials and injecting into
two different injectors.
To perform a Dual run you must have, of course, two injectors installed
adjacent to each other and within the reach of the CP-8400/8410. The
CP-8400/8410 must be configured to use both injectors. Two important
considerations to keep in mind when setting up a Dual run are to set the
injector used in the Automation table you are using to Both and to set the
Advance Vial for second injection to Yes. Two other parameters of
special note are the first injector used and the delay time between
injections. The CP-8400/8410 will always go to the first injector specified
to make the first injection of a Dual run. The delay time between
injections will cause a timer to begin incrementing at the first injection.
The CP-8400/8410 will immediately sample for the second injection and
will pause immediately over the second injector to be used until the delay
timer expires. As soon as the timer reaches the set time, the second
injection will be performed. This feature of the CP-8400/8410 is designed
to allow high throughput with precise retention times.
