9.3 Maintenance / Inspection

To ensure long-term use of Oval' s Coriolis flowmeter, please conduct maintenance / inspection for the
following items. Please confirm that the power of flowmeter has been turned off and that there is no
hazardous atmosphere in the surrounding area prior to maintenance / inspection.

9.4 Replacement Parts

For the event of failure, we recommend you to keep spare replacement parts to minimize downtime.
Please consult OVAL sales office or nearest representative for replacement parts. Please inquire for parts
together with the information of the flowmeter model, serial, required parts name and quantity.
Replacement of terminal o-rings
O-rings are used as sealing components which has service life.
Although the exact service life will depend on the operating environment, periodic replacement is
recommended.
Recommended replacement period: 5 to 8 years after delivery
CAUTION:
1. Whenever you open or disassemble the instrument, inspect the O-rings
and gaskets. Replace the deteriorated parts if necessary.
2. To ensure safe and sound operation, periodic re-torquing of the corresponding
parts is recommended.
Corresponding parts:
O-ring between terminal box - lid

Are dedicated cables used? If used, do the dedicated cables have any contact with other
cables (especially with the power supply line)?
Is there any damage such as peel or tear on the insulation coating?
Are the dedicated cables connected appropriately?
Are the terminals treated properly?
Is the top cover fixed on the terminal box?
Is grounding implemented appropriately?
Are the screws for grounding terminal loosened?
Are the grounding wires deteriorated?
Is the sensor resistance value normal?
Drive circuit resistance: Resistance range: 0 to kΩ *
Pickoff circuit resistance: Resistance range: 0 to 00Ω *
Temperature sensor circuit resistance: (00 + 0. Ω temperature [℃ ]) Ω
*: There is a slight difference according to sensor and fluid temperature.
*: This numerical formula can be applied only for a separate type. When measuring at the
transmitter, wiring resistance of the dedicated cables must be added.
