To derive the maximum benefit from the instrument, make full use of these functions during maintenance and inspection for early identification of trouble or for investigation of the causes of trouble in a fault condition. 9.6.1 Probe check A diagnostic test can be conducted to see if the transmitter is free from any problem in the probe circuitry.

To be successful in obtaining accurate results, run the test at zero flow. Upon completion of the check, diagnostic results will be indicated and you will be prompted to follow the instructions given.

Attractive features include a double pulse output created by allowing two pulses out of phase by 0 or 0 degrees, and a bidirectional pulse output - linked with status output signal, enabling the operator to discriminate the direction of flow.
