Using the Call Screen and Directory
>
Point to the
Phone 4
field and type a
telephone number.
If you are dialing from a PBX system, remember to type
your line access number and a
+
to access the outside
line, then type the digits of the phone number.
If you make any typing mistakes, press the Back Space
key to erase them, or the Clear Line key to erase the
entire field and start over.
>
Press <Enter> to save your entry.
A blank Create Voice Entry form appears so you can type
another directory entry.
Next you will learn how to create an entry that can be
dialed quickly from any window, even outside Telephone
Manager.
Creating Repertory Dialing Assignments
Telephone Manager offers a repertory dialing directory
that lets you assign a directory entry to each of the
function keys F1 and F3 through F8.
You can then dial the telephone number associated with
that entry by pressing and holding the Shift key, then
pressing
the assigned function key.
Best of all, you
do not have to be in Telephone Manager to place this
type of call; you can dial from any window.
For instance, you can create a repertory dialing
assignment to call your boss:
>
In a blank Create Voice Entry form,
fill in
the
Name
and
Phone #
fields for your boss.
>
Point to the Function Key field and press
<Cmd>.
