6.6 Sanding the functional shank
Sand the functional shank according to the usual standards.
The following steps should be observed for sanding the functional shank:
1) Protect the footshell with adhesive tape.

6.7 Assembling the sheath
Complete the following steps to assemble the sheath:
1) Pull the sheath over the functional shank.
INFORMATION: The sheath has to fit over the full length with no longitudinal tension
on the foam.

6) Mark the measured distance to the 4
screws on the outside of the functional
shank.
7) Remove the knee joint and tube adapter.
8) With a pointed needle or a metal pin
heated with a blow dryer, drill a hole in the
functional shank at the marked locations.
9) Insert the knee joint with the tube adapter
into the functional shank.
10) Assemble the prosthetic foot through the
previously drilled holes.
2) In the area of the ankle, do not sand the
functional
shank
cosmesis.
INFORMATION: Leave more material at
the front and rear. This is compressed
in the ankle area by the functional
stocking.
3) Sand the functional shank.
INFORMATION: Do not sand the trans­
ition (area marked in white).
4) For the 3F1=2 functional cosmesis
Genium: In the calf area, sand the leg con­
tour so that it is flush with the installation
ring for the inductive charger (4X259).
