6.5 Finishing the functional shank
CAUTION
Incorrect protective equipment
Injury due to defective or lack of protective equipment.
Wear protective goggles and a dust mask during grinding.
Shortening the functional shank
Complete the following steps to shorten the functional shank:

3) Install the charger extension cable (see the
647G1146 instructions for use).
4) Assemble the charger extension cable and
O-rings so that the ribs of the functional
knee part do not press on the cable and O-
rings.
INFORMATION: Note the recess on the
functional knee part.
5) Assemble the functional knee part on the
joint.
INFORMATION: Verify the form fit of
the functional knee part on the joint.
6) Secure the position of the functional knee
part with the Allen key size 2.
7) Bring the joint into an extended position.
INFORMATION: Use the knee extender
for the C-Leg.
8) Fasten the cable tie and tighten the
adapter mounted directly on the knee.
9) Verify the proper fit of the cable tie.
10) Tighten the two screws on the functional
knee part using the supplied screwdriver
with wing handle.
11) Remove the Allen key.
1) Bring the prosthesis to full extension.
2) Measure from the bottom edge of the
upper knee part to the top edge of the foot
connection plate.
3) Add 15 mm to the measured length and
transfer this to the functional shank.
INFORMATION:
shank, measure from the top to the bot­
tom.
4) Cut off the functional shank at the marked
location.

for an optimum fitting result.
