6-12 Replacing Exhaust Fans

Eight rear exhaust fans provide cooling for the nodes in the F414IS chassis. These
fans circulate air through the nodes as a means of lowering the internal temperature.
The F414IS exhaust fans are easily removed from the chassis withouthat tools.
There is no need to uninstall any other parts when replacing fans
Replacing an Exhaust Fan
1. Determine the location of the failed fan.
2. Power down the node with the operating system.
3. Remove the power cord from the rear of the node with the failed fan.
4. Simultaneously squeeze both sets of release tabs on the top and bottom of
the fan to release it from the rear of the chassis.
5. Pull the failed fan from the rear of the chassis.
6. Insert a replacement fan into the fan bay in the rear of the chassis.
7. Push the fan into the bay until it clicks into the locked position.
