Installing the Motherboard
1. Review the documentation that came with your motherboard. Become familiar
with component placement, requirements, cautions, and cable connections.
1. Power down the node with the operating system and remove the cord from
the rear of the power supply as described in Section 6-3. Remove the node
from the chassis as described in Section 6-4. Remove the node cover as
described in Section 6-5.
2. Compare the mounting holes in the node with those in the motherboard. Add
or remove standoffs as needed.
3. Secure the motherboard to the fl oor of the node tray using the rounded,
Phillips head screws included for this purpose. Do not exceed eight pounds of
torque when tightening down the motherboard.
4. Refer to the next section of this for instructions on installing the expansion
card
5. After installing the expansion card, ecure the CPU(s), heatsinks, and
other components to the motherboard as described in the motherboard
documentation.
6. Connect the cables between the motherboard, backplane, front panel, and
power supply, as needed.
7. Return the node ot the chassis and power up the node.
