Fuel R eserve W arning Lamp

The fue l reserve w a rnin g lam p s h o u ld
com e on w hen the key is tu rn e d to
ste e rin g lo ck p o s itio n 2, and s ho uld
go o u t a fte r the en gine is running.
If the w a rnin g lamp stays on a fte r the
engine s ta rts , o r c o m e s on w h ile d riv ­
ing, it in d ica te s th a t th e fuel level is
dow n to the reserve q u a n tity (9.0 I
[2.4 US gal]).

C oolant T em p eratu re G auge

If the an tifre eze m ixtu re is e ffe c tiv e to
— 30 °C ( — 22 °F ), th e b o ilin g p o in t of
th e c o o la n t in the p re s s u riz e d co o lin g
system o f y o u r veh icle is ap pro x.
130 °C (266 °F ) (see also " Fuels,
C oolants, L u b rica n ts, e tc .").
D uring seve re o p e ra tin g c o n d itio n s
and s to p -a n d -g o c ity tra ffic , th e c o o l­
ant te m p e ra tu re may rise clo se to the
red m arking.
Low Engine C o o lant Level Ind icato r
Lamp
The in d ic a to r lam p c o m e s on w ith the
key in ste e rin g lo ck p o s itio n 2, and
should go o u t w hen th e e n gine is ru n ­
ning.
If it c o m e s on w ith th e e n gine running,
th e c o o la n t has d ro p p e d b e lo w the
re q u ire d level. If no leaks are n o tic e ­
able and th e e n gine te m p e ra tu re do es
n o t increase, c o n tin u e to drive to the
ne are st se rvice s ta tio n and have c o o l­
ant ad d e d to th e c o o la n t syste m (see
page 77).

Lamp
The in d ic a to r lam p c o m e s on w ith the
key in s te e rin g lo c k p o s itio n 2 and

re s e rv o ir has d ro p p e d
o f the to ta l

refilled w ith M B W in d s h ie ld W asher
C o n c e n tra te " S " and w a te r (o r c o m ­
m ercially available p re m ix e d w in d ­
shield w a s h e r s o lv e n t/a n ti-fre e z e ,
d e p e n d in g on a m b ie n t te m p e ra tu re )
at the ne xt o p p o rtu n ity . The re se rv o ir
fo r the w in d s h ie ld and headlam p
w a sh e r syste m is lo ca te d in the
en gine c o m p a rtm e n t (see page 116).
The re s e rv o ir fo r th e rear w in d o w
w a shin g s yste m is lo c a te d b e hind the
panel on th e RH side in th e c o m p a rt­
m ent.

O utsid e T em p eratu re Indicator

The te m p e ra tu re s e n s o r is lo cated in
th e fr o n t b u m p e r area. Due to its lo ca­
tion , th e s e n s o r can be a ffe c te d by
road o r e n gine heat d u rin g idling o r
slo w driving . This m eans th a t the
a ccu ra cy o f th e displa yed te m p e ra ­
tu re can only be ve rifie d by c o m p a ri­
son to a th e rm o m e te r place d ne xt to
the se n so r, n o t by co m p a ris o n to
e xte rn a l d ispla ys (e.g., bank signs,
etc.).
A d a p ta tio n to a m b ie n t te m p e ra tu re
ta ke s place in s te p s and d e p e n d s on
th e pre vailin g d rivin g c o n d itio n s (s to p
and go o r m od era te , c o n s ta n t driving)
and a m o u n t o f te m p e ra tu re change.
