Im portant note:
The airbag is designed to ac tiv ate
only in m ajor frontal im p acts within
the shaded area shown in th e illus­
tratio n on page 39. Only during
th ese types of im pacts will it pro­
vide its supplem ental p ro tectio n.
The driver should alw ays w ear the
s e at belt, o therw ise it is not possi­
ble for the airbag to provide its
intended pro tectio n.
In cases o f less severe fro n ta l
im p acts, ro ll-o ve rs, ce rta in side
im p acts, rear c o llisio n s, o r o th e r a c c i­
d e n ts w ith o u t severe fro n ta l fo rce s,
th e airbag w ill n o t be activa ted. The
d rive r and o th e r p a sse n g e rs w ill then
be p ro te c te d by th e fa ste n e d seat
belts.

If y o u r ve h icle is e q u ip p e d w ith the
o p tio n a l fro n t p a sse n g e r airbag, it can
be id e n tifie d by th e le tte rin g " SRS-
A IR B A G " on th e d a sh b o a rd ahead of
the fro n t p a sse n g e r (c o v e r o f airbag
unit).
