The en gine co o la n t is a m ixtu re of
w a te r and M B a n tic o rro s io n /a n ti­
freeze, w h ich p ro vid e s:
• c o rro s io n p ro te c tio n
• freeze p ro te c tio n
• boiling p ro te c tio n (by in crea sing
the b o ilin g po in t).
The co o lin g system w as fille d at the
fa c to ry w ith a co o la n t p ro vid in g fre e ze
p ro te c tio n to ap p ro x. — 30 °C
( - 2 2 °F ) and c o rro s io n p ro te c tio n .
The red area o f the te m p e ra tu re
gauge is m atche d to th e heating p ro ­
p e rtie s o f th is co o la n t so lu tio n .
The c o o la n t s o lu tio n m u s t be used
year ro u n d to pro vid e th e ne ce ssa ry
c o rro s io n p ro te c tio n and in crea se in
the b o il-o v e r p ro te c tio n . You sho uld
have it rep la ced every 3 years.
To p ro vid e the im p o rta n t c o rro s io n
p ro te c tio n , th e s o lu tio n m u st be at
least 40 % a n tic o rro s io n /a n tifre e z e
(equals a fre e ze p ro te c tio n to ap pro x.
— 25 °C [ — 13 °F ]). If y ou use a s o lu ­
tio n th a t is m ore than 55 % a n tic o rro ­
s io n /a n tifre e z e (freeze p ro te c tio n to
ap p ro x. —45 °C [ — 49 ° F ]), the
e n gine te m p e ra tu re w ill increase due
to th e lo w e r heat tra n s fe r c a p a b ility o f
the s o lu tio n . T h ere fore, do n o t use
m ore tha n th is a m o u n t o f a n tic o rro ­
s io n /a n tifre e z e .
If th e c o o la n t level is low, w a te r and
M B a n tic o rro s io n /a n tifre e z e s h o u ld
be use d to b rin g it up to th e p ro p e r
level (have co o lin g syste m ch e c k e d
fo r s ig n s o f leakage).
The w a te r in th e co o lin g syste m m u s t
m eet m in im um re q u ire m e n ts , w h ich
are usually s a tisfie d by no rm al d rin k ­
