Open cap on coolant expansion tank.


Remove sound insulation - arrows -.

Place drip tray VAG1306 under engine.


Pull retaining clip - 1 - for Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor G2 - 2 - off lower coolant hose and

drain coolant from radiator.
