6.4 Stopping

Before stopping the tractor:
■
Close the arm.
■
Disconnect the cutter bar operation control as compactly as possible and position the cutter bar on the ground or return the
ma-chine to transport condition.
■
Turn off the tractor, take the starting key out and apply the hand brake.
■
If the ground is sloping, insert wedges to block the tractor wheels.
Wait for all rotating motion to stop before proceeding to drive or shut down the tractor.
6.5 Transport position
For road transport, it is mandatory to:
■
Disengage the drive of the cutter bar, block the lever and fit the guards as protection against accidental blows.
■
Close the arms into road transport position and lock the arms and the cutter bar in place by connecting the special safety
chains or belt to the anchor points on the flail hedge mower arms and frame (after checking respective maintenance and
use man-ual) in order to prevent shifting of position outside the machine profile.
■
Fit the blade guard.
■
Carefully follow the Road Code in force.
■
Apply suitable traffic warning signs.
■
If the machine profile covers the tractor tail lights it is necessary to fit a rear bar with warning lights and/or other luminous signals
specified by the Road Code.
■
Check that the hydraulic lifting levers are blocked, to avoid the machine coming down during transport.
Never engage the power to the machine when the cutter unit is in the transport position.
WARNING
As well as respecting the rules, it must be remembered that, when travelling on public roads, great care must be taken to comply
with any particular requirements specified in the tractor registration document, and to proceed at an appropriate speed, especially
when carrying equipment with large projecting parts at front and rear, or when the road is busy, winding or steep.
When going out onto the road after work, care must be taken to clean the tyres or other working parts, to avoid dirtying the road
surface with earth or other material.
During transport reduce speed especially on bumpy roads. The weight of the machine may
render driving difficult and damage the machine itself.
During road transport the power takeoff must be disconnected.
