6 USE AND OPERATING RULES
6.1 Controls
The cutter bar control levers must be fitted in the cab, in a comfortable position for the driver to use. They must be firmly atta-
ched.
For several types of control, consult the maintenance and use manual of the machine to which the cutter bar has been ap-
plied.

6.2 Starting

During use, maintenance, repair, handling or storage of the machine, the operator must wear accident-
prevention footwear, overalls, safety gloves and, if necessary, ear muffs and a dust mask.
Before using the machine, ensure that there are no persons or animals within a radius of 50
metres.
DANGER
Do not star the machine while in the grass to be cut. Allow the blades to develop full speed before cutting.
Before starting:

Check that all guards are in good condition.
■
Verify that the control lever of the cutter bar is in neutral position.
■
Start the tractor and let the oil circulate for some minutes before operating any control lever.

The machine must be used with an oil temperature higher than 30°C; the oil must never be heated by sending the oil to di-
rectly the flail head. The hydraulic ram of the second arm can be maintained at the end of its stroke for approx. 15 minutes,
for examplei.

Place the cutter bar in a safe position, gradually increase the rpm of the tractor PTO and slowly shift the cutter bar.
