ADJUSTMENTS
In order to perform setting, connect the cutter bar to an independent power supply equipped with a distributor with a maximum
pressure valve. Whenever equipment of this kind is unavailable, the setting procedure can be performed with the cutter bar
connected to the work system.
After setting the distributor maximum pressure valve (whenever the setting of the maximum pressure valve of the cutter bar
power distributor, such as the flail hedge mower arm, for example, is modified, the respective operator is responsible for re-
storing the distributor valve back to its original conditions at the end of setting operations).
Remove the fork (B) by unscrewing the bolts () with the stroke ends (4) for the blade movement hydraulic ram.
Apply a pressure gauge to the distributor power take-off. Seal the distributor delivery line, press the cutter bar start control, and
set the maximum pressure valve to 135 Bar. Then release the cutter bar start control.
Close the maximum pressure valves (5-7) of the change-over valve (A), by screw ing the setting screws (6-8) completely.
Make sure that the valve pawl (9) has been pressed in order to pilot the oil on the bottom side.
Slowly unscrew the setting screw (8) on the maximum pressure valve (7) while keeping the cutter bar start control pressed at
the same time.
After the maximum pressure valve reaches the pressure set for the distributor (135 Bar), the clicking sound of change-over will
be heard. Tighten the maximum pressure valve (7) by a quarter of a turn and then tighten the lock nut.
Then proceed to the setting of the second valve (5).
Increase the distributor maximum valve pressure value by performing the operations above and then set the valve pressure
to 170 Bar.
While keeping the distributor lever pressed, slowly loosen the maximum pressure valve (5) to bring it to 170 Bar. After the hydraulic
ram has reached the maximum valve pressure value set, the clicking sound of its change-over will be heard.
Pay special attention during this phase because the change-over of the blades will take place
continuously. Make sure that there are no people or property within 5 meters of the blades
during these operations. Whenever people, animals or property enter the area, in-terrupt all
operations immediately. Seek assistance from a second operator when perform-ing these
CAUTION
operations.
Tighten the maximum pressure valve (5) by a quarter of a turn and then tighten the lock nut.
5.2 Cutter bar blade stroke adjustment
When adjusting cutter bar blade movement, the first thing to do it to make sure (in loadless condition) that change-over at the
end of the stroke of the blades occurs correctly on the change-over valve pistons (Fig 5.1 - A).
If change-over is not performed correctly, or in other words, the two blades do not open adequately to maximum aperture, use
the adjustment screws (Fig 5.1 - 4) in order to accelerate or decelerate change-over.
Loosen the nut and unscrew or screw down the screw depending on the type of adjustment necessary. Only one adjustment
must be performed at a time. Every time that the adjustment is performed, the tractor power take-off must be disconnected,
the engine of the tractor must be switched off, and the keys must be removed from the dashboard
.
Proceed to checking by switching the system on and then performing the operation by us-
ing the distributor lever. Pay extra attention when checking correct blade stroke and keep a
distance of at least 1 meter, making sure that no one is near the machine. Avail of the services
of specialised personnel for these operations and seek assistance from a second person to
CAUTION
switch the system on or off. Whenever people, animals or property enter the area, interrupt
all operations immediately.
