RIGGING PROCEDURES
FOR
CESSNA 400B & 400B IFCS AUTOPILOTS
(Types AF-550A & IF-550A)
1982 & ON T303 MODELS
GENERAL
To ensure proper operation of the 400B and 400B
IFCS autopilots, the autopilot's rigging should be
checked every 200 hours of airplane operation.
Aileron Rigging. To check out the autopilots aileron
rigging, proceed as follows:
NOTE
Before proceeding with the following pro-
cedures, be sure the aileron control
system has been rigged in accordance
with instructions provided in the T303
airplane's Service Manual for cable
1. Access Cover Plate
2. Access Opening
tensions, travels and friction.
Step 1. Place control wheels in neutral position
of the ailerons and secure control wheels in the neu-
tral position by taping a bar securely across both con-
trol wheels.
Step 2.
Pull the center section of the floor-
board carpet back from the forward spar cover as-
sembly (located just aft of the two front seats) to
gain access to the first two access plates aft of for-
ward spar cover assembly. (See Illustration A.)
The carpet is attached with velcro strips and can
easily be pulled back by starting to pull at the upper
aft edge of the spar cover assembly.
Remove the
two access plates (1) to gain access to the autopilot
aileron rigging.
