Avionic Installations Service/Parts Manual
1.
Turn-off aircraft Master Switch, Avionics Power Switches and all Radios.
2.
Pull-out and retain the bottom plug-button mounted in the center, lower portion of the Audio Control
Panel.
3.
Insert the special tools Screwdriver (Part No. SE1393) into the locking hole (where the plug-button
was removed in step 2) until it engages the Dust Cover locking mechanism and then rotate Screwdriver
counterclockwise to unlock the Audio Control Panel from its Mounting Tray.
4.
Pull-out on the face of the Audio Control Panel to remove it from its Mounting Tray.
5.
Refer to the interconnect figure and insert the PC Board end of the Test Extender Cable (7) into the
Audio Control Panel's Dust Cover.
6.
Insert the opposite end of the Test Extender Cable Assembly (7) into the Audio Control Panel (1).
7.
Turn-on the aircraft Master Switch, Avionics Power Switches, Autopilot Switch, Area Nav Switch
and the associated Nav/Com Radio.
8.
Rotate the inner knob on the interior lights dimming rheostat (labeled RADIO) counterclockwise to
to the minimum dimming position.
9.
On the Audio Control Panel, place the ANN LTS switch in the NITE position and observe that the
brightness of all Annunciator Lights is at the highest comfortable level under night lighting conditions.
10.
To increase minimum light level of Annunciator Lights, insert a small Screwdriver into the
front-side (side shown in figure) of the potentiometer (5) and rotate counterclockwise to increase
minimum light level of Annunciator Lights or rotate clockwise to reduce minimum light level of
Annunciator Lights.
11.
To reinstall Audio Control Panel, reverse steps 1 through 7.
Marker Beacon Audio Potentiometer Adjustment Procedures.
NOTE
The following special tools are required to accomplish these procedures: 9870006-1
Test Harness Assembly, SE1393 Screwdriver and a standard Marker Beacon Ramp
Tester.
The Test Harness Assembly and Screwdriver are available through the
Cessna Service Parts Center.
NOTE
An equivalent for the SE1393 Screwdriver can be any standard Screwdriver with a
maximum blade diameter of . 126 inch and a shaft length of 10 inches minimum.
1.
Turn-off aircraft Master Switch, Avionics Power Switches and all Radios.
2.
Pull-out and retain the bottom plug-button mounted in the center lower portion of the Audio Control
Panel.
3.
Insert the special tool Screwdriver (Part No. SE1393) into the locking hole (where the plug-button
was removed in step 2) and rotate the Screwdriver counterclockwise to unlock the Audio Control Panel
from its Mounting Tray.
4.
Pull out on the face of the Audio Control Panel to remove it from its Mounting Tray.
5.
Refer to the interconnect figure and insert the PC Board end of the Test Extender Cable Assembly (7)
into the Audio Control Panel's Dust Cover.
6.
Insert the opposite end of the Test Extender Cable Assembly (7) into the Audio Control Panel (1).
7.
Place a standard Marker Beacon Ramp Tester in front of the aircraft and turn Tester on.
8.
Turn-on aircraft Master Switch, Avionics Power Switches and on the Audio Control Panel, place
MKR BCN SPKR/OFF/PHN Switch in the SPKR position to observe level of Marker Beacon Receiver
audio over the Speaker.
9.
Put-on the Headset and reposition the MKR BCN SPKR/OFF/PHN Switch to the PEN position to
observe level of Marker Beacon Receiver audio over the Headset.
10.
If level of Receiver audio is undesirable in steps 8 or 9, insert a small Screwdriver into the
front-side (side shown in figure) of the Potentiometer (6) and rotate adjustment pot clockwise to
increase volume of Receiver audio or counterclockwise to reduce Receiver audio.
11.
Recheck steps 8 and 9 and if necessary, repeat step 10.
12.
To reinstall the Audio Control Panel, reverse steps 1 through 7.
