AUDIO SIDETONE ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES
1.
Speaker and Headphone Sidetone can only be adjusted by the Sidetone Potentiometers (Speaker
Item 2 & Headphone Item 3) mounted inside the Audio Control Panel Assy (Item 1).
2.
A test extender Test Harness Assy (Item 4) is available through the Cessna Service Parts
Center to facilitate the service technician in making in-flight or on-the-ground sidetone
adjustments.
3.
The Sidetone Potentiometer for the Speaker (Item 2) and Headphone (Item 3) should have been
adjusted during assembly at the factory to the maximum clockwise position (Minimum Resist-
ance Value) as viewed from the left side of the rear of the Audio Control Panel (Item 1).
4.
During adjustment, be aware that if the speaker sidetone level is set too high, it can cause
audio feedback (squeal) when transmitting.
5.
If reduced speaker or headphone sidetone Is desirable, rotate the appropriate Potentiometer
(Speaker Item 2 or Headphone Item 3) counterclockwise to obtain the desired listening level.
6.
Speaker or Headphone Sidetone is only available when the "AUTO' switch is set in either the
SPEAKER or PHONE position.
Adjusting the appropriate pot as previously outlined will
assure the desired audio setting for the speaker or headphone sidetone.
