RAISING THE TAILGATE
5. Open the tailgate about 3 feet
high;
6. Raise the tailgate 3 feet (enough
to raise the safety prop);
7. Pull the safety prop upward (see
Figure 7. "Pulling the tailgate
safety prop out from its home
position").

Apply the following procedure to
close the tailgate when the safety
prop is set:
