SRED Encrypted MSR Information

Integrating the PCI PTS 3.x SRED-certified Linea Pro 7 into your solution requires proper maintenance
of the Linea Pro 7 to ensure long and trouble free operation of the product. This includes maintaining
proper battery charge to prevent the Linea Pro 7 from entering Tamper Detect mode.
When the user replaceable battery is depleted or removed for up to one (1) hour (see note below),
the magnetic read head security feature becomes disabled and renders the unit unusable. If the
security feature becomes disabled, the unit must be sent back to Infinite Peripherals for servicing.
To prevent downtime caused by the magnetic read head security feature becoming disabled:
Always place the Linea Pro 7 on charging station when not in use for extended periods.
DO NOT allow the user replaceable battery to fully discharge.
DO NOT remove the user replaceable battery from the unit for more than one (1) hour.
Upon removal of the user replaceable battery, the device should provide enough charge to retain
encryption keys for up to one (1) hour. Retention time will vary based on the charge level of the
battery at the time it was removed, and the length of time the battery was inserted in the device.
When the user replaceable battery is fully discharged and enters the Tamper Detect mode,
the unit may only be reactivated at IPC or an authorized service facility.
