ASSEMBLING YOUR LINEA PRO 5 Remove the top of the Linea Pro 5 case. Insert the iPod or iPhone device. 3. Connect the iOS device by firmly sliding it onto the Lightning connector. 4. Guide the top piece onto the Linea Pro 5 using the large snap and firmly press the top piece onto the body of the Linea Pro 5.
CHARGING YOUR LINEA PRO 5 Charging the Linea Pro 5 through the USB Port The Linea Pro 5 uses a Lithium ion rechargeable battery. The battery should be fully charged prior to the first use. The Linea Pro 5 supports pass through charging to the iOS device. The iPod or iPhone and Linea Pro 5 may be charged together via the mini USB port or by placing it in a Linea Pro 5 Single or 5-Unit Charging Station.
Battery Status Indicators You can check the battery status by pressing the Battery Status button. Numbers illuminated at the bottom of the unit identify the battery charge status. DEVELOPING APPLICATIONS Software is not provided with your Linea Pro 5. Please contact your reseller or Infinite Peripherals for Third Party software solutions. Integrating the Linea Pro 5 into your iOS application requires the use of the Infinite Peripherals Universal SDK. The SDK incorporates an API specifically for developing applications to use Linea Pro 5 functionality.
POWERING ON YOUR LINEA PRO 5 The dual-purpose Scan button powers on the unit and scans barcodes. To power on the Linea Pro 5: With the Linea Pro 5 in powered off, press the Scan button until a single beep is heard. The unit is now ready for use.
STATUS AND OPERATIONAL MODES In addition, LEDs indicate the modes of operation. LEDs indicate connection status plus charging and/or low battery conditions. These conditions and their corresponding LEDs: Operating Status No LEDs Sleep or ready mode. Multiple LEDs Displaying battery level status. One LED is flashing Charging and syncing.
USING YOUR LINEA PRO 5 Barcode Scanner — 1D Barcodes The Linea Pro 5 1D model uses a scan engine that supports one-dimensional (1D) barcode symbols. The effective reading distance of the barcode reader varies depending on the barcode size. To scan a 1D barcode: Press the Scan button to activate the Linea Pro 5.
Barcode Scanner — 2D Barcodes The Linea Pro 5 2D model uses a scan engine that supports one-dimensional (1D) and two- dimensional (2D) barcode symbols. A single swipe can read field data from all three tracks. The MSR will function as an unencrypted MSR until an encryption key is injected into the MSR head by a designated Infinite Peripherals key injection facility. Please contact an Infinite Peripherals account representative for more information.
Contactless Card Reader (RFID) The built-in RFID tag/card reader incorporates several RFID format depending on the model of your Linea Pro 5. To use the RFID reader: Press the Scan button to activate the Linea Pro 5. Place the RFID tag/card over the receiver/transmitter as indicated by the RFID label. The data is sent from the Linea Pro 5 Tab contactless reader to the iOS.
Syncing The Linea Pro 5 portable barcode scanner and card reader is designed specifically to use with a iPod/ iPhone. This allows the iOS to sync with iTunes through the Linea Pro 5 while they are connected. To sync your iPod or iPhone device with iTunes through the Linea Pro 5, connect the Linea Pro 5 to a computer by plugging a Mini USB cable into the USB port.
RESETTING YOUR Linea Pro 5 You can use the Battery Status button and the Scan button to perform a soft-reset without removing the iOS. The soft-reset feature cycles the power, allowing the unit to restart. To reset the Linea Pro 5: Press the Scan and Battery Status buttons simultaneously until a series of beeps is heard.
The Linea Pro 5 is designed with an internal 1300 mAh battery. If the battery is not charging properly, or the unit is not powering on, please contact your Infinite Peripherals representative or any certified IPC service center for servicing.
Pro 5 battery is depleted or removed, the magnetic read head security feature becomes disabled and renders the unit unusable.
