3.1 Quick Start Guide - BOS2

Refer to Section 4, INSTALLATION for mechanical and wiring instructions. Connection of the BOS oxygen sensor
and any external devices such as RTD's or transmitter inputs should also be made at this time. Once all wiring
connections are secured and verified, apply power to the analyzer.
Electrical connections must be in accordance with National Electrical Code (ANSI/NFPA-70) or other applicable
national and local codes).
Set Up:
1. Power up the OXYvisor unit, the main display will show the oxygen values, pressure, temperature,
any existing errors, time & date.
2. Press the Escape key and select the first option - Measurement and Units → Basic Setup → Oxygen
Sensor Type → BOS2
3. Press the Escape key to return to the Measurement and Units → Basic Setup → Media → Gas
Phase
4. Escape our again to the Measurements and Units → Basic Setup → Oxygen Sample Rate → Manual
Adjust and set the update rate according to your process. The faster the sensor rate, the faster the
drift of the sensor. So, it is recommended to set this as slow as possible for your process. Typically,
30 seconds or 60 seconds sample rates are used.
5. Escape our to the main menu and select Input Output → Temperature Input and select the
appropriate temperature sensor connected to the analyzer.
6. Under Input Output → Pressure Sensor Input, select the appropriate pressure sensor connected to
the analyzer.
Calibration:
1. Once the Sensor type is selected (BOS2) the factory calibration is automatically uploaded.
2. During the calibration, the sample rate will be automatically update to 5 seconds.
3. Setup the oxygen sensor probe, so it can be exposed to the zero gas (N2) and the Span Gas (2'nd
cal point).
4. Place the Oxygen sensor and the temperature probe close to each other.
5. If an external pressure sensor is selected, place this sensor after the oxygen sensor to measure the
correct pressure of the system during calibration.
6. Ensure that there is no pressure build up during calibration. If a rotameter is available, adjust the flow
to approximately 1 - 2 L/min, and outlet/vent to ambient.
7. Under the OXYvisor menu, go to Calibration →Basic Setup → Manual O2 Calibrating → Calibration
Temperature On → Two Point Calibration → Input Zero Gas (nitrogen).
8. Start flowing the Zero gas and monitor the live values of the sensor measurement on the screen.
Once the Phase Angle stabilizes, press the Enter Key to store the value.
9. The stability of the phase angle should be +/- 0.07 and Temperature should be +/-0.2C.
