Mode Parameter Pages
Completion Status
There are several mode parameter pages that allow you to retrieve different drive
parameters. The format of these pages is described in the Mode Select command,
starting on page 42. The following mode parameter pages are supported:

Description
• The drive is ready to perform any appropriate command.
• The drive remains in any previously set mode. MODE SENSE does
not set or change any modes.
• The tape position is not changed. It remains at the previous position.
Use the Request Sense command to retrieve status information. Possi-
ble Sense Keys are:

Description
Parity error on the SCSI bus or drive
hardware failure.
The Command Descriptor Block is invalid.
The cartridge was changed, or the drive
was reset prior to this command.
