RECEPTION WITH FAX/TELEPHONE SWITCH ENABLED

With the set-up parameter "FAX/PHONE" enabled, the facsimile machine can recognize whether
the call is an ordinary telephone call or the caller wants to send a fax (this feature is not available
in all countries).
I
The facsimile machine is in standby. The display shows the message "FAX/PHONE".
When the caller wants to send a document:
1. The machine recognizes that the incoming call is a fax call and, after a certain number of rings,
prepares to receive a document (the machine beeps and the TX/RX LED lights up). When
LINE STATUS is pressed, the display shows the information associated with the document
(current page, transmission speed, whether the ECM function is enabled) and the sender's
facsimile number (or name, if stored on the sender's machine).

2. At the end of reception, the facsimile machine returns to standby (the machine beeps and the
TX/RX LED goes off).
When the caller wants to have a conversation:
1. The machine recognizes that the incoming call is a voice call and then informs you by beeping
and the TX/RX LED by blinking.
2. Lift the handset and talk in the ordinary way. If you hear nothing, press the HOOK/TALK key.
If the handset is not lifted within a few seconds, the facsimile machine prepares to
automatically receive a document.
