5. Time Settings and NTP

ntp server

Configures client/server mode and specifies client mode for an NTP server. As a result, the time of
this Switch is synchronized to that of a time server. The time of this Switch can be synchronized
to that of another switch, but the time of another switch cannot be synchronized to that of this
Switch.
This command can be used together with
maximum of 10 entries in total.
Syntax
To set or change information:
ntp server <ip address> [version <number>] [key <key id>] [prefer]
To delete information:
no ntp server <ip address>
Input mode
(config)
Parameters
<ip address>
Specifies the IPv4 address of a Switch whose time is to be synchronized.
version <number>
Specifies the NTP version number.

Default value when this parameter is omitted:
Version 4 is specified by default. If you prefer to use the default value, do not set this
parameter.

Range of values:
1, 2, or 3
key <key id>
Specifies the authentication key for access. Specify
authentication-key

Default value when this parameter is omitted:
No authentication keys are specified.

Range of values:
1 to 65535
prefer
When multiple time reference source switches are specified, a switch with the
parameter specified takes priority.

Default value when this parameter is omitted:
No priorities are set.
