Messages displayed on the control panel when you use the scanner function
This section describes likely causes of and possible solutions for the error messages that appear on the
control panel. If a message not described here appears, act according to the message.
Message
"Cannot find the specified
path. Please check the
settings."

Cause
A memory allocation error
occurred.
A memory allocation error
occurred.
The specified paper type
name is not set in the
machine.
Cause
The destination computer name
or folder name is invalid.
Solution
PCL 6
On the printer driver's [Detailed
Settings] tab, click [Print
Quality:Advanced] in "Menu:",
and then select [Raster] in the
"Vector/Raster:" list. In some
cases, it will take a long time to
complete a print job.
Turn off the power and then back on
again. If the message appears
again, replace the RAM. For details
about replacing the RAM, contact
your service representative.
Re-obtain the latest paper type
information set in the machine.
Solution
Check whether the computer name
and the folder name for the
destination are correct.
