Variables
D Variable Summary
Process
Position—indicates the position of the monitored equipment (e.g. valve) as a percent of travel or span.
Switch States—dictates the position of the monitored equipment (e.g. valve) as a discrete value; OPEN, CLOSED, or
PARTIALLY OPEN.
Update Rate—the time interval between scheduled bursts of message 0. It is assumed that the user will configure the
primary purpose variable in burst message 0. (This is the default setting).
Accumulated Count—the number of cycles that have accumulated since the last time the counter was reset to zero.
Close Trip Point—the user-defined thresh hold that determines when the monitored valve is declared open. (Read-only)
Open Trip Point—the user-defined thresh hold that determines when the monitored valve is declared closed.
(Read-only)
Deadband—the amount of return travel inside the threshold that must occur before a tripped state is reset. Valid values
are from 0% to 20%. Default value is 5%. (Read-only)
Device
Temperature—indicates the temperature of the electronics.
Temperature Quality—indicates the overall process data quality of the named device variable. Values are 'Good', 'Bad',
and 'Manual/Fixed'.
Supply Voltage—indicates the power module voltage.
Note
Power module warnings generally only apply to the standard and extended life power modules.
An external power sourced 4320 will provide the supply voltage levels from the output of the external power assembly, not the
voltage of the supply source.
Supply Voltage Quality—indicates the overall process data quality of the named device variable. Values are 'Good', 'Bad',
and 'Manual/Fixed'.
Warning Voltage—Threshold for the power module low-voltage warning. (Read-only)
Critical Voltage—the threshold for the power module critical-voltage warning. Device configuration changes are
prohibited below this voltage. (Read-only)
Update Rate—The update rate associated with the Temperature Variable.
Run Time Extremes
Maximum Temperature—indicates the maximum recorded temperature of the 4320.
