GRACE FRONT GUIDE OPTIONS
This fireplace comes with guides to ensure finish materials do not encroach into the convection air area of the fireplace. Some
decorative Front models for this fireplace come with additional guides for different finishing and appearance options.
There are three options for finishing the fireplace when installing a Grace front.
Please read the following instruction before installing the finishing material on the front of this fireplace. If you have any
questions about finishing the fireplace, contact a Mendota dealer or the Mendota Service Department.

To prevent damage, remove any decorative front, screen, or door from the fireplace and mask the fireplace glass frame
prior to installation of finish materials
Option 1: Installing Front On Top Of Finishing Material
Note: No extra parts required. Option 1 employs the inner guides that are factory installed.
Option 1 requires that your finish material be less than 2.5" thick, including backing materials and reasonably flat. If your finish
material thickness exceeds 2.5" then consider using Option 3 Guides, see "Option 3.
Otherwise, use the inner guides that come installed on the fireplace. The guides are 1" deep.
If your finish material is rough or lightly colored and extends past 1", you may be able to see the material behind the screen at
certain angles.
After the fireplace is installed
and the finishing material
installation is complete the
decorative front can be hung
on the fireplace. The finished
look is similar to hanging a
picture frame on a wall where
the frame protrudes out from
the wall.
Because the screen is attached
to the back of the Grace front,
there will be a ¾" gap between
the frame and wall. If you do
not want this gap but want the
frame to mount over the
finishing material, then
consider using Option 2.
