7. Insert the board into the front and rear retention mechanisms. Carefully push
down on the board until it engages and fully seats in the slot connector.
8. Connect the cables to the PCI board while firmly holding the PCI board with
your hand. Slowly close front and rear latches on the front and rear retention
mechanisms to secure the PCI board. The PCI Slot Power lamp goes on.
Note:
operating system automatically recognizes the installed hot-
plug PCI board and installs the driver.
If an error occurred in the installed board or slot, the PCI Slot
Fault lamp goes on (amber).
Be sure to close the rear retention latch slowly and correctly.
Abruptly closing it may cause the system to fail to recognize
the PCI board.
9. Check to ensure the installed PCI board is recognized and operating properly
in Windows 2000, as follows:

Select [Control Panel]>[Administrative Tools]> [Computer
Management]>[Device Manager] to start the Device Manager.
!
Move the cursor to the added board.
!
Display the [General] dialog in the property to confirm that the device is
operating normally.
