APPENDIX A

Connecting power through building wiring

TS-600 can be powered through building wiring from a wiring distribution frame,
provided all building wiring requirements are met.
The TS-600 cord adapter, AC adapter, short line cord must be located near the wiring
distribution frame and phone system (e.g. TalkSwitch).
1. Connect the AC adapter to an electrical wall outlet, and connect the AC adapter end plug
to the DC jack of the cord adapter. The LED will light to indicate DC power is available.
2. Connect one end of the supplied short line cord to the TO LINE jack of the cord
adapter, and the other end to your phone system (e.g. TalkSwitch extension jack).
3. Connect one end of a 6-pin, 6-conductor (6p6c) RJ11 cable* (not supplied) from
the TO PHONE jack of the cord adapter and connect the other end to the appropriate
point on the distribution frame. (*also known as RJ25 cable)
4. Using CAT3/5e cable (maximum length
100 m/328 ft) wired as shown at
right, connect the distribution
frame terminal to the RJ11 telephone
wall jack that will connect to a TS-600
telephone. (This is required for each
TS-600 wall jack).
5. At the TS-600 location, connect one end of the supplied long line cord to the TEL
LINE jack on the TS-600 phone, and the other end to the RJ11 telephone wall jack.
