The Optidrive E3 may be limited to a maximum speed of 25.0 due to one or more of the following reasons:

1. Speed Reference Input (P00-03) – The speed reference input might be lower than expected, causing the drive to operate at a reduced speed.
2. Current Limit Reduction – If the overload accumulator reaches 90%, the output current limit is reduced to 100% of P-08, which could restrict the speed.
3. Analog Input Scaling – If an analog input is used for speed control, its scaling or signal level might be affecting the speed.
4. Alternative Ramp Time (P-24) – If P-24 is set and conditions apply, it could be affecting acceleration and deceleration speeds.
5. Derating at High Altitude or Temperature – If the drive is operating above 1000m or in high ambient temperatures, it may be derated, limiting performance.

Checking these factors and adjusting settings accordingly should help resolve the speed limitation.

NOTE If P-09 value is changed, P-10 value is reset to 0. Optidrive E3 normally uses frequency for all speed related parameters, e.g. Minimum and Maximum Output Frequency. It is also possible to work directly in RPM, by setting the above parameter to the relevant rated speed from the connected motor nameplate.
  • Page 23 Low Frequency Torque Boost is used to increase the applied motor voltage and hence current at low output frequencies. This can improve low speed and starting torque. Increasing the boost level will increase motor current at low speed, which may result in the motor temperature rising - force ventilation or additional cooling of the motor may then be required.

  • Page 33 Asynchronous Induction Motors (IM) Vector Control Optidrive E3 factory default parameters are intended for use with IM motors where the power rating of the motor is approximately the same or slightly less than the indicated power rating of the drive. In this case, it should be possible to operate the motor without any parameter adjustment at all for initial testing.
