Activating CDMA

If your device is to operate on a CDMA network, you need to associate the radio in your device with you cellular
service account so that the radio can connect to the service provider's cellular network.
Before activating your account, you need to contact your carrier to setup an account, check the signal strength
LEDs on the device, as well as the signal strength meter on the web management interface. Ensure the device is
receiving a strong cellular signal.
To activate your account on your CDMA device:
1.
From Cellular, select Activation.
Note:
addition, a message will appear below the status saying that this device's radio appears or does not
appear to be activated.

If the device is not activated, follow the instruction for your specific carrier below. Each carrier
activation is different.

To verify the radio is activated, go to Verify Activation, enter an IP Address or URL, and use the
default Network Interface as Radio. Click the PING button.
Unavailable Services in PPP-IP Passthrough and Serial Modem
Modes
In both PPP-IP Passthrough and Serial Modem modes, many rCell services described in this document are non-
configurable and therefore do not appear in the device configuration menu. If you choose one of these modes, all
sections between this and the next note on this subject are not available.

Configuring Wake Up On Call

This feature allows the router to wake up and initiate a cellular connection when there is an incoming call, SMS, or
LAN activity.

Go to Cellular > Wake Up On Call to display the configurations.

The device's current activation status is displayed, either ACTIVATED or NOT ACTIVATED. In

Sprint: Uses an Over-The-Air activation process that automatically attempts to activate
the radio once you arrive at the Activation window. For details on activating using AT

Aeris: Requires you to first enter the MDN and MSID/MIN and then click the Activate

After the activation starts, a message displays at the top of the screen that it
is in progress.
Once the activation completes, a message appears at the top of the screen
that it succeeded or failed.
The device uses the cellular radio connection to ping a server.
