Problem
Paper is often jammed or
wrinkled.
The document is not fed. Is the document too small?
An error message is
displayed when you load
paper in Tray 5 (bypass)
and tap [Start].

Possible Cause
Is the paper loaded in the paper
tray properly?
Is the paper tray mounted
properly?
Is the paper damp?
Is the paper curled?
Are the paper and paper tray
settings correct?
Are any shreds of paper
remaining or is there a foreign
object in the machine?
Is unsupported paper loaded in
the paper tray?
Is paper exceeding the maximum
fill line in the paper tray?
Are the paper guides aligned
properly?
Is the paper finely cut out?
Check the positions of the paper
guides of Tray 5 (bypass).
Action
Load the paper properly.

Mount the paper tray properly by inserting it securely all the
way into the machine.

Replace the paper with new paper.
Turn over the paper in the paper tray, or replace the paper with
new paper.
Specify the paper and paper tray according to the loaded
paper.

Open the cover of the machine or pull the paper tray to
remove any shreds or foreign objects.

Replace with paper that meets machine specifications.

Load paper in the paper tray so that it does not exceed the
maximum fill line.

Load the paper properly, and then align the paper guides with
the paper so that the paper guides contact the paper lightly.

Some paper types may not be cut out finely. Flex and fan the
paper well, and then load it again.
The minimum size document that can be loaded in the Duplex
Automatic Document Feeder (DADF) is A5
Align the paper guides properly.
