FINAL REDUCTION
INSPECTION
Turn the inner race of each bearing with your finger.
The bearings should turn smoothly and quietly. DRIVESHAFT BEARING
Also check that the bearing outer race fits tightly in
the case.
Remove and discard the bearing if the races do not
turn smoothly and quietly, or if they fit loosely in the
case.

Check the driveshaft, final gear shaft, countershaft
and counter gear for wear or damage.
