18.1 Operational Problems
Fault
No network.
The handset beeps
once a minute (for max
30 minutes) in a low
tone, followed by a
high tone (if enabled,
the vibrator also
follows the beeps).
No display.
No ringtone when a call
is received.
Not possible to set the
ring volume to "Silent".
Wrong time or date.
The handset calls an
emergency number
when trying to call
another handset, or
when calling an
international number.
NOTE: Cellular handset
version only.

Probable cause
The handset has lost connection
and is in one of the following
states:
- No network
- No access
- Voice only
- Messaging only
The battery level is low, or the
handset is defective.
The ringtones and notifications
volume is set to silent or vibrator
only, or the handset is defective.
Minimum volume is set to a value
other than "Silent (no
restriction)", restricting the
handset from setting the volume
down to silent.
The handset hasn't received the
right time and date from the NTP
server.
The number sequence begins with
the same numbers as an
emergency number. Usually the
handset receives a list of locally
used emergency numbers from
the SIM card, but if no SIM card is
inserted a general list of possible
emergency numbers is used
instead.

Action or comment
Acknowledge the warning
notification bar or press the
volume down button (the later
keeps the dialog window
visible).
You can configure the beep to
Sound off or Sound once (for
each new state), contact the
system administrator.
Note: When leaving a bad state
for another bad state, the
warning notification bar
reopens, and the beep sounds
again (if enabled).
Charge the battery, or contact
the system administrator.
Increase the volume by
pressing the volume up button,
or by adjusting the slider in
Settings > Sound > Volumes >
Ringtones & notifications.
An administrator must set the
Minimum volume parameter to
"Silent (no restriction)", refer
to the
Configuration Manual for
the
handset.
Restart the handset. If the time
or date is still wrong, contact a
system administrator.
If the handset is used without a
SIM card, insert a SIM card to
limit the number of possible
emergency numbers.
