TIP: The lock screen widget can be expanded by swiping down from the center of the widget.
If a message or alert is tapped in an expanded lock screen widget it opens up without the
need to unlock the handset.
Refer to the
widgets.

10.5 Status Bar

The status bar is in the upper top part of the display, and shows pending notifications from
apps (in the upper left corner), and handset system status, such as time, battery level, or
Wi-Fi/Cellular signal strength (in the upper right corner).

10.6 Notification Bars

Notification bars appear as overlays on the top of the screen to indicate new alerts,
conversation messages, alarms, or warnings. Up to four different notification bars can be
stacked on top of each other (one of each notification type). Tap
to close it.
NOTE: Closing an alert notification bar does not dismiss the alert.

There are four types of notification bars:
Alerts
The alert notification bar show color coded alerts when they reach the handset. Tapping on
the bar will open up the alert in the same way as in the alert view. See chapter
page 41 for details on how to handle alerts.
