    How to Use This Document This document describes the features and settings of the Ascom Myco Smartphone. It is referred to as the "handset" in the manual, and especially marked with "Ascom Myco 2 only", "GMS version only", "Wi-Fi only", "DECT only", or "Cellular only", whenever the functionality differs between handset versions.

    Install Using Easy Deployment The handset is automatically installed and configured, if the Wi-Fi system is configured for Easy Deployment. See the Configuration Manual, Ascom Myco Smartphone for information on how to configure Easy Deployment in the Wi-Fi system. Easy Deployment does not automatically provide the handset with a DECT subscription. Before the handset can be used in DECT environment, the administrator must do one of the following: •...

    Setup QR codes. NFC can be used to share scanned deployment data with other Ascom Myco 2 GMS handsets. In this way it is possible to avoid using the Android Setup Wizard for initial setup of the GMS for each handset. Note that a Google Play account, if wanted, needs to be added manually.

    Ascom (Art.No. 660468, delivered with interchangeable plugs for EU, UK, USA/CA, and AU/NZ). When charging an older model of the Ascom Myco handset than Ascom Myco 2, the handset must be turned on when it is charged with a Micro-USB cable. When charging using a Micro-USB cable connected to a PC, the battery may drain instead of charge if the PC is turned off or is in sleep mode.

    Notifications with system dependent information can be shown on the screen during incoming and outgoing calls. These notifications are provided by the DECT system and cannot be removed. This only applies to the Ascom Myco 2 handset used in DECT environment. Make a Call Calls are made by manually dialing the phone number, tapping a recent call in the call list, or by using the phonebook lookup.

It is implemented through IR location devices, which transmit location information continuously. IR location is used to indicate the location of the handset in critical situations when the handset alarm button is pressed.

    An alarm can be either a personal alarm with a functionality, or a test alarm to test the personal alarm. The type of alarms used are selected by the system administrator. See the Configuration Manual, Ascom Myco Smartphone for information on how to configure personal alarms.

    Barcode Scanning To use the barcode scanning function an optional barcode scanning license is required. See the Configuration Manual, Ascom Myco Smartphone for instructions on how to add licenses to a handset. The handset is equipped with a professional barcode scanning functionality that can be used to efficiently scan 1D and 2D barcodes, for example located on Patient ID wristbands and medicine labels.
