Troubleshooting
This chapter contains information on how to solve common problems and warning messages.
Go through the lists below if you encounter any problems. If these lists does not solve your problem,
contact your system administrator.
If other handsets are having similar problems, it might be a system error.
This chapter includes the following sections:

Operational Problems

Fault
No network.
The handset beeps once a
minute (for max 30 minutes) in a
low tone, followed by a high tone
(if enabled, the vibrator also
follows the beeps).
Nothing is displayed on the front
display.
Front display is too dark.
No ringtone when a call is
received, or no sound when an
alert/notification is received.
Not possible to select a louder
ring volume than Silent.

Probable Cause
The handset has lost connection
and is in one of the following
states:
- No network
- No access
- Voice only
- Messaging only
The battery is empty, the screen
is broken, or the handset is
defective.
Brightness is too low, or on
automatic.
The ringtones and notifications
volume is silent, or vibrator only,
or the loudspeaker is defective.
Minimum volume is configured
as a value other than Silent (no
restriction), restricting the
handset from setting the volume
to silent.

Action/Comment
Acknowledge the warning
notification or, press the Volume
down button (the later keeps the
dialog window visible).
You can configure the beep to
Sound off, or Sound once (for
each new state), contact the
system administrator.
Note: When leaving a bad state
for another bad state, the
warning notification reopens, and
the beep sounds again (if
enabled).
Charge/replace the battery, or
contact the system administrator.
Manually select the brightness
level.

Increase the volume by pressing
the Volume up button, or by
adjusting the slider in
Settings > Sound > Volumes >
Ringtones & notifications, or
contact the system administrator.
Ask an administrator to change
the Minimum volume parameter
to Silent (no restriction)
