Power Connectors
A 24-pin main power supply connector
(J24) and two 8-pin CPU power
connectors (JPWR1/JPWR2) on the
motherboard. These power connectors
meet the SSI EPS 12V specifi cation
and must be connected to your power
supply to provide adequate power to
the system. See the tables on the right
for pin defi nitions.
Warning! To avoid damaging the power
supply or the motherboard, be sure to
use a power supply that contains a 24-
pin and
two 8-pin power connectors.
Be sure to connect the 24-pin power
connector at J24, and the two 8-pin power
connectors (JPWR1/JPWR2) to your
power supply. Failure to do so may void
the manufacturer warranty on your power
supply and motherboard.
Fan Headers
This motherboard has seven system/
CPU fan headers (Fans 1-5, Fans A,
B) on the motherboard. All these 4-pin
fans headers are backward-compatible
with the traditional 3-pin fans. However,
fan speed control is available for 4-pin
fans only by Thermal Management via
the IPMI 2.0 interface. See the table on
the right for pin defi nitions.
Chassis Intrusion
A Chassis Intrusion header is located
at JL1 on the motherboard. Attach an
appropriate cable from the chassis to
inform you of a chassis intrusion when
the chassis is opened.
