USB and eSATA Storage Expansion

The Thecus I P st orage support s ext ernal USB hard disks t hr ough it s USB port s.
Once a USB hard disk is successfully m ount ed, t he ent ire volum e will be linked
aut om at ically t o t he default USB HDD folder. The Thecus I P st orage support s USB
ext ernal st orage devices. All file nam es on t he USB disk volum e are case sensit ive.
The Thecus I P st orage also support s eSATA har d disks wit h it s eSATA port .
Befor e at t aching an eSATA or USB disk drive t o Thecus I P st orage, y ou have t o
part it ion and form at it on a deskt op com put er or a not ebook first . The at t ached
device will be locat ed at \\192.168.1.100\usbhdd\sd(x)1 where 192.168.1.100
m eans t he I P addr ess of Thecus I P st orage and sd(x)1 st ands for t he first part it ion
on t he eSATA or USB disk drive.

Remote Administration

You can set up your Thecus I P st orage for r em ot e adm inist rat ion. Wit h rem ot e
adm inist rat ion, you can access y our Thecus I P st orage over t he I nt ernet , even if
your Thecus I P st orage is behind a rout er. This is especially useful if you ar e
t raveling and suddenly need a file from your Thecus I P st orage.
Set t ing up rem ot e adm inist rat ion is a t hree- par t process, and will require t he
following equipm ent :
